Portman Electronics have been undertaking commercial electrical testing for over 25 years.
Businesses have a legal obligation to comply with the Electricity at Work Act 1989 and the best way to conform with these regulations is to undertake an Electrical Inspection Condition Report as per BS7671 Guidance Note 3. For commercial properties this should be undertaken every 5 years.
Our team of fully qualified electricians ensure that distribution boards, electrical item(s) and sockets are inspected and tested. Portman are members of the NICEIC and upon completion of the inspection Electrical Condition Reports are issued electronically.
The codes are clearly listed on our reports against each observation/defect. Any Code 1’s would be repaired whilst our engineers are on site testing. Our engineers can provide advice on what the codes mean and will provide support.
A brief overview of each code:
- C1 – Immediate action is required due to a dangerous fault
- C2 – Fault could be ‘Potentially Dangerous’ if left in its current state
- C3 – Improvement recommended
- F1 – Further investigation required without delay
